Nelonen Media’s sustainability commitments

Nelonen Media’s sustainability work is guided by sustainability commitments, which were updated in 2025.

1. Entertainment is meaningful

We offer joy, emotions, and shared experiences for both audiences and creators. We create communal phenomena and tell stories that resonate with Finns.

2. Entertainment is fair

We provide content creators and performers a safe space, also for challenging topics. We invest in, for example, TV participants’ experience and support them throughout various phases of the production process.

3. Entertainment is fun

We use humor to address even serious topics, but discriminatory or racist jokes are not acceptable at Nelonen Media. We can laugh at ourselves and with others, equally and respectfully.

4. Entertainment is diverse

We give room to differences and want to promote a rich and varied worldview. We treat people equally and with respect. We aim to be a forerunner in entertainment and a presenter of new perspectives.

5. Entertainment is safe

We safeguard data protection, comply with age ratings set by authorities, and ensure a safe advertising environment. We are a reliable partner and use consumer data fairly, while utilizing AI tools responsibly and in compliance with laws and regulations.

6. Entertainment is responsible

We minimize the environmental impacts of content production and encourage TV production companies to calculate their emissions. We are committed to Sanoma’s climate targets, which guide us in reducing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

7. Entertainment creates jobs

We are Finland’s largest enabler of domestic entertainment production and an advocate for the industry. We employ and support professionals in the audiovisual sector. We offer a developing, inspiring, and safe working environment for entertainment creators.
