As announced on 18 December 2014, Sanoma has decided to combine Belgian consumer media operations with those in the Netherlands. The new strategic business unit is Sanoma Media BeNe. In addition, the Dutch magazine press distribution business Aldipress will remain as an independent unit but will be reported within Media BeNe.
From 1 January 2015 onwards, Sanoma will report net sales and profitability for three strategic business units: Media BeNe, Media Finland and Learning. The remaining businesses in Russia as well as Bookwell and AAC will be reported under the category ‘Other’. The change in reporting does not impact Group’s consolidated figures. Also the figures for Media Finland and Learning remain unchanged. The first interim report for 2015 to be published on 29 April will be prepared in accordance with the new structure.
Sanoma's net sales and operating profit for strategic business units for 2013 and 2014 have been adjusted to account for the changes. All details are presented in the attached tables:
- Net sales by strategic business unit
- Operating profit by strategic business unit
- Operating profit excluding non-recurring items by strategic business unit
