Welcome, new Sanoma Media Trainees!

The Sanoma Media Trainee 2026 programme kicked off on Monday, 4 May, as 12 new trainees started at Sanoma Media Finland. Best of luck with your onboarding and welcome aboard, Eemeli, Eetu, Elli, Emil, Emmi, Hans, Heidi, Julia, Lilli, Otto, Oula, and Paavo!

 

In the trainee programme, participants will work across the organization for eight months as part of teams focused on AI, data, product development and sales. The new trainee roles this year are:

AI Developer Trainee
Marketing Analyst Trainee
Client Partner Trainee
ETL Data Engineer Trainee
Data Analyst Trainee
Business Analyst Trainee
Product Owner Trainee

The new trainee group's first day began with a kickoff session where the trainees got to know each other and Sanoma as a workplace. During the day, the programme’s content and objectives were outlined.

“According to the feedback, people were nervous on the first day, but I didn’t notice any nervousness myself. There was a lot of new information, but we also made sure to have breaks and calmer moments for questions and conversation. I hope the participants left the first day with as good a feeling as I did,” says Thomas Arento, head of the trainee programme.

Next, the trainees will get to know their own teams and dive into hands‑on work. In addition to the work itself, the programme includes a number of joint training sessions, company visits, and mentoring to support development during the programme.

The Sanoma Media Trainee programme supports Sanoma Media Finland’s digital development and business growth. The goal of the trainee programme is not only to nurture future talent, but also to strengthen Sanoma’s digital capabilities and bring in new ideas. This year, the programme has a strong focus on AI. The trainee period offers an opportunity to grow into media professionals and build their own career paths. This newly launched programme is the third.
