Sanoma Corporation, Press Release, 13 October 2014 at 11:00 CET+1

As part of the strategic review that Sanoma announced on 31 October 2013, Sanoma has decided to keep four glossy magazines brands (Beau Monde, Grazia, Marie Claire and Nouveau) in the Netherlands. This decision is driven by Sanoma's Dutch domain strategy and increased co-operation with SBS Broadcasting. The four glossy brands have proven to be of considerable added value to the Women’s Interest and News & Entertainment domains. With this decision, Sanoma has finalized the strategic review of its Dutch magazine portfolio.

Sanoma Media Netherlands is focusing on the domains Women’s Interest, Kids & Teens, News & Entertainment, Automotive and Home Deco with an integrated media portfolio that consists of magazines, digital media, events, video and television. The four glossy brands will play a significant role in the domains Women’s Interest and News & Entertainment.

The co-operation between the four glossy brands and SBS will be strengthened by moving them to TV-company SBS Broadcasting in Amsterdam. From 1 January 2015 onwards the editorial and marketing and sales teams of the four glossies will be located in the SBS building.

Last year, Sanoma announced a strategic review including a review of its Dutch magazine portfolio to focus on key brands. Except for the four glossy brands, all magazine titles that were part of the review have been divested. A small number of titles have been merged into a bigger magazine brand. Sanoma's core magazine portfolio will consist of 21 focus titles from now on.
