John Beekman (1955) has been appointed as ICT Director at Sanoma Learning, as of July 1, 2012. For the last 4.5 years, John has been an Associate Director at KPMG. He was responsible for the acquisition and execution of management and consultancy assignments, in the field of ICT and sourcing management.
As ICT Director, John will manage the Sanoma Learning wide ICT teams and will be a key member of the Sanoma Learning ICT Leadership team, reporting to the CTO Andrew Rufener. He will be working closely with the CIO of Sanoma Group to deliver effective and efficient ICT services to all Sanoma Learning’s operating companies.
John is a true ‘connector’ of the business and ICT. His passion is to build bridges between the ICT organization and the people responsible in the business, to create the maximum value for the business. With his broad experience as CIO and Director ICT at an international level, John will be a valuable asset to Sanoma Learning.
John's main responsibilities will be the development, delivery and operation of back office services through our Business Applications based upon SAP and other systems of the Sanoma Learning operating companies. He will also be responsible for the operation and management of all Publishing Platforms and Customer Facing Platforms. Quality, creation of economies of scale and standardization are important areas of special interest.
