Sanoma announced the acquisition of SBS TV assets in Belgium and the Netherlands from ProSiebenSat.1 on 20 April 2011. The acquisition of the Belgian operations was closed on 8 June 2011. The Belgian Competition Authority has now granted approval for the partnership structure in Belgium, whereby the three shareholders obtain joint control over the SBS Belgium activities. Sanoma owns one third of the shares of De Vijver Media, together with media group Corelio and a consortium led by Wouter Vandenhaute and Erik Watté.
