Catherine van Passel (1974), Master in Applied Economics, will be appointed Chief Financial Officer in Sanoma Learning & Literature Division. Catherine will take over responsibilities from the present CFO Barend de Graaff.
For the last three years Catherine has worked as a CFO at Van In Uitgeverij NV in Belgium, which is a part of Sanoma Learning & Literature. Before Van In, Catherine has worked as a controller at Etex Group and as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Chief Financial Officer Catherine van Passel will report to CEO Jacques Eijkens and she will be a member of the SLL Management Board. She will take over the new position during the spring and the transition is expected to be fully in place before summer 2010.
Present CFO, Barend de Graaff, will leave SLL because he has decided to start up his own consulting and trading business. He has been at Sanoma Learning & Literature for 5 years, from the start of the European Learning activities.
