Bookstore chain Suomalainen Kirjakauppa, part of the Rautakirja division, has sold its annual press subscription service business to Lehtimarket Oy. The business comprises commission sales of annual volumes of Finnish and foreign magazines and newspapers to corporate and public corporation customers. The deal will be finalised on 1 May 2008. As a result of the divestment, 16 people will transfer to Lehtimarket and continue on as established employees.
"The decision to divest this business is according to our strategy to focus on core activities, bookstores and online bookstore," comments Jarmo Oksaharju, President of Suomalainen Kirjakauppa Oy.
