Sanoma Magazines Praha has launched National Geographic Traveler. The new magazine is the third brand from National Geographic that Sanoma Magazines Praha publishes, next to National Geographic magazine and National Geographic books.

National Geographic Traveler is a modern travel magazine focused mainly on National Geographic magazine readers. The Czech edition brings a selection of short and middle distance destinations, with a light touch of exclusive and exotic places. The main attention is given to those destinations that can easily be reached by the readers. In each issue a local story is also important; in the first issue attention is given to the beautiful, but yet quite unknown Beskydy Mountains.

All travel stories in the magazine are accompanied by systemized and sophisticated practical information that can easily be used. This makes the Czech National Geographic Traveler not only a magazine to read but also to travel with.

In 2008 National Geographic Traveler will be published twice. The next issue will appear in the fall of 2008. In 2009, the magazine is planned to be published every quarter. The first issue has a print-run of 40,000 copies; it is cover-priced at CZK 89 (EUR 3.45).

Sanoma Magazines also publishes National Geographic titles in Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Russia. In addition to the Czech Republic, National Geographic Traveler is published also in Russia.

Sanoma Magazines Praha publishes over 20 magazines and is one of the leading publishing houses in the Czech Republic. It is part of Sanoma Magazines International, responsible for the magazines operations of the SanomaWSOY Group in Central, Eastern and South East Europe.
