SanomaWSOY Corporation was awarded a third prize in international companies category at a yearly competition organised by Helsinki Stock Exchange and the biggest Finnish daily, Helsingin Sanomat. The competition evaluates companies' annual report, interim reports, and stock exchange releases. According to the jury, SanomaWSOY reports the essential information with reader friendly structure and layout.
The jury appraised the content of SanomaWSOY's annual report for 2004, especially its pictures and graphics. Also consistency in continuous information and the content in interim reports were considered good.
In 2005, especially IFRS reporting and corporate governance issues were emphasised. SanomaWSOY succeeded well in these categories. According to jury, SanomaWSOY's segment reporting as well as future outlook reporting are good examples for other companies listed in HSE. However, the jury wished that some aspect would be reported in more detail.
According to the jury, the differences between top three companies in international category were small. The first place was awarded to Stora Enso Corporation and Kesko Corporation was voted the second best.
