SanomaWSOY has made changes to its organisational structure of educational and book publishing. The SanomaWSOY Group comprises now of five divisions: Sanoma Magazines, Sanoma, SanomaWSOY Education and Books, SWelcom, and Rautakirja. The organisational structures of Sanoma Magazines, Sanoma, SWelcom, and Rautakirja do not change.

The new SanomaWSOY Education and Books Division comprises of three main businesses: SanomaWSOY Education, WSOY General Literature, and WSOYpro.

SanomaWSOY Education is focusing on educational publishing in the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Hungary, and Poland. WSOY General Literature is the leading general literature publisher in Finland. WSOYpro provides a range of training, competence and communications solutions for enterprises.

The new SanomaWSOY Education and Books division will be headed by Jacques Eijkens, 50, CEO of SanomaWSOY Education and Veli-Pekka Elonen, 41, President of WSOY, as his deputy. Eijkens has also been appointed member of SanomaWSOY's Management Group, as of October 1, 2006.

Jacques Eijkens (BBA) has worked as CEO of SanomaWSOY Education since 2004, when WSOY acquired the educational publisher Malmberg Investments operating in the Netherlands and Belgium. Eijkens has worked as CEO of Dutch-based Malmberg Publishing in1998 - 2004. Prior to that Eijkens has worked in several management positions.

Jacques Eijkens will continue as the head of the SanomaWSOY Education business. As communicated on June 21, 2006, Veli-Pekka Elonen will as of October 1, 2006 be the President of WSOY, which comprises of WSOY General Literature including also Weilin+Göös and Bertmark, and WSOYpro businesses as well as of WSOY's other activities such as printing house WS Bookwell.
