The Netherlands' first ever charity glossy Pink Ribbon Magazine (Sanoma Uitgevers) has raised 528,544.78 euro. Chairman of the Board Pim de Wit and publisher Matthias Boswinkel from Sanoma Uitgevers presented the sum formally to Stichting Pink Ribbon at the end February 2005, the association for breast cancer patients.Pink Ribbon Magazine was launched on September 2004 on the initiative of Sanoma Uitgevers. The proceeds have come from the sales of almost 94,000 copies together with 240,000 euro from advertisements in the magazine. The total sum (after taxes) will go to Stichting Pink Ribbon. The money will be used for giving information, for instance by setting up a web site, to patients who have recently been confronted with a breast cancer diagnosis.
