Eero Sauri, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Special Interest Magazines Unit, has been appointed Senior Vice President responsible for the international expansion projects of Helsinki Media's Magazine Publishing business as of April 1, 2001.
International expansion is one of Helsinki Media's key strategic objectives, and the goal is to increase the share of the company's sales outside Finland to 20% of the total by 2005.
Eero Sauri has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Special Interest Magazines since 1986, and he also started up Helsinki Media's activities in Sweden. Prior to joining Helsinki Media, Eero Sauri served as Editor-in-Chief of Apu magazine and as Vice President of A-lehdet Oy. Sauri will continue as a member of Helsinki Media's Management Group.
Eija Soratie, Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales, has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager, Special Interest Magazines, which publishes a range of IT magazines, hobby magazines, corporate publications, and business directories. Soratie will continue as a member of Helsinki Media's Management Group.
Previously, Soratie has served as Sales Director of Helsinki Media Paino (currently Hansaprint) and as Advertising Director of Uusi Suomi Oy.
