New Sanoma start-up to make sewing fun and easy again, the contemporary way

On 19 December 2013, Sanoma Media Belgium will be launching its latest concept, La Maison Victor.

La Maison Victor wants to be an online fashion house for the digital Do-It-Yourself generation by introducing a new approach to sewing: sewing patterns by Belgian top designers, step-by-step instruction videos by the cream of sewing professionals and a brand-new magazine. Making your own clothing has suddenly become a far more fun and realistic prospect again!

La Maison Victor hopes to entice a new generation of women into making their own trendy clothes and accessories. Christine Festjens, Business Director Sanoma: “More and more people would love to make their own clothing and accessories but end up shelving that idea either because they feel they lack the skills or because the more traditional offer doesn’t really grab their imagination. Aside from offering this target audience a magazine and a website with stylish patterns and easy-to-follow instructions, La Maison Victor more specifically aims to become an online 'house' where women sharing that same passion can meet one another and exchange ideas and knowledge. A contemporary take on the traditional art of sewing! Numerous people, from top designers and sewing specialists to a number of women from the target group, were instrumental in the launch of La Maison Victor. We, for our part, are more than a little proud of the result they have achieved”.

As the website La Maison Victor is now online, the magazine of the same name and the La Maison Victor patterns have hit the shelves, budding sewers can get straight down to work.
