Sanoma builds new audiovisual platform for the Libelle brand 

At the end of this summer, Sanoma Media will launch the new digital television channel Libelle TV. The new channel will broadcast programmes representing an extension of the content of the Libelle magazines.  

Every week, Libelle’s readers find inspiration in their favourite magazine to get the most out of everyday life: practical recipes, heart-warming stories, great fashion, home and DIY ideas and much more besides. With Libelle, Sanoma targets the active woman who puts her family first, but also regards her own self-development and the society she lives in as important. Sanoma has been investing in the rock-solid Libelle brand for years, and two years ago also launched two extra monthly magazines under the same brand: the culinary magazine Libelle Lekker! and Libelle Mama!, the publication for and by mums with kids at primary school. Sanoma now plans to make television programmes on these and other themes together with the editors of Libelle. Libelle TV will be broadcast round the clock throughout Flanders via the Telenet digital basic package.

Significant steps had already been taken with the stake in De Vijver Media and the starting up of Story FM. After radio, a fully-fledged digital TV channel fits perfectly with our ambition of expanding our audiovisual activities further.”

Partnership with De Vijver Media

The commercial operation of Libelle TV will be managed by Sanoma Media. For the sales of the advertising commercials, Sanoma Media will work with SBS Sales Belgium, which will in this way add a complementary channel to its portfolio.
