Nelonen Media, part of SanomaWSOY's electronic media division SWelcom, will bring Radio Rock in air at the beginning of January 2007. The new channel is targeted to all rock music lovers. Its music offering covers versatile areas of rock, but is mainly concentrated on the latest recordings.
"Now is the perfect time to launch a new radio channel focus on rock 'n roll in Finland. Rock 'n roll is more popular than ever and there is good supply of new artist, both domestic and foreign, coming all the time. Also older music and different sub categories will have their own programmes," explains Radio's Programme Director Kari Laakso.
Rock 'n roll will fill the air on New Year and the programmes begin in mid-January. The attitude of Radio Rock is honest and genuine, but not without humour.
Nelonen Media's President Juha-Pekka Louhelainen is excited: "Radio adds to Nelonen Media's portfolio – now we can serve electronic media audiences in Finland better than ever," Louhelainen sums up.
Over 4.2 million Finns can listen Radio Rock. Nelonen is part of SanomaWSOY's electronic media division SWelcom, and includes TV, radio, and digital operations.
