Ilta-Sanomat strengthens its position as the leading publisher of non-subscription papers - market share shows strong increase

Ilta-Sanomat Tv-magazine, Ilta-Sanomat's latest product for the non-subscription market, will start appearing as from tomorrow, May 12.
Tv-supplement will be upgraded as a weekly magazine.

Ilta-Sanomat's market share has grown rapidly this year, and today its share of all non-subscription sales of afternoon papers is 62.7% (61.1% in 2003). Also the non-subscription sales of Ilta-Sanomat and IS Veikkaaja, sports and sports betting weekly, are on the increase compared with the previous year. The weekend supplement Ilta-Sanomat Plussa, launched at the end of February, has been particularly successful in the market share competition and has contributed to the growth in Ilta-Sanomat's week-end sales by nearly 10,000 copies.

The content of the new magazine, printed on quality paper, is clearly more versatile and colourful than Ilta-Sanomat's previous TV magazine and serves readers for example by offering a more extensive information package of TV programs.

The readers will find information on TV programs, presentations of familiar TV faces, tv-relating equipment, games, DVD movies and video films. Both Ilta-Sanomat's editors and well-known TV personalities bring the wide world of TV closer to readers.

The new Ilta-Sanomat Tv-lehti will continue to appear each Wednesday and will in the first weeks be sold at an extra charge of EUR 0.20 together with Ilta-Sanomat.
