Sanoma aims to ensure logistically, economically, and ecologically effective deliveries.
The principal delivery partner of Sanoma News’ newspapers is Itella, a service business whose core competency lies in information and product flow management. As of February 2011, all Itella deliveries became part of the “Itella Green” service. They are CO2 neutral, meaning that the emissions produced in the delivery process are completely mitigated by Itella participating in carbon reduction programs elsewhere. In 2010 the total savings in CO2 emissions for Sanoma through the use of Itella Green was more than 900 tonnes.
In Finland, all magazines and tabloids sold in newsstands are delivered to the outlets as collective deliveries by Sanoma Trade's press distribution organisation Lehtipiste. Also deliveries of WSOY's books to dealers and bookstores are handled jointly with other book publishers. Lehtipiste collects and recycles unsold copies of newspapers and magazines during regular distribution rounds.
Also in operating countries of Sanoma Media's business units, magazines are delivered together with other publishers. The Group's ethical principles state that its transport is handled only by the most esteemed and professional delivery partners in each country.
