Corporate responsibility

Economy & society

Business operations have various types of impacts in their surroundings and Sanoma is no exception. Sanoma distributes a significant amount of its economic value annually to its stakeholders via dividends, taxes and purchases. Through responsible procurement, charity work and partnerships potential negative impacts of business operations can be mitigated. Sanoma also participates in many local initiatives to uphold corporate citizenship.

An example of such societal responsibility and partnership is the Pink Ribbon magazine, which is published in the Netherlands and Belgium. The magazine promotes breast cancer awareness and in the Netherlands also raises funds. In Sanoma's other European operating countries the cause is supported by donating media space and raising the topic in content.

Sanoma's responsibility actions and initiatives in its surroundings and among its stakeholders are addressed further in this section.

"Sanoma promotes social well-being by offering its business expertise and direct financial support to various parties across its different operating countries."
