The
Sanoma Group's units offer hundreds of online services covering
areas such as news and entertainment, online marketplaces, search
engines, virtual communities and games.
Online services are developed
strongly especially in Finland, the Netherlands, Hungary and
Bulgaria. Many of the new online services are theme-based websites,
where user generated content has an important role. Many of the
sites are also concepts that can be easily transferred from country
to country.

News and entertainment
In addition to news, the Group's newspapers and
magazines' online services offer a variety of services: theme sites
on different topics, videos, user generated content, conversation
platforms and archives.
The online edition of Finland's leading daily
newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, Hs.fi, as well as the online edition
of Ilta-Sanomat, Iltasanomat.fi, are among the most popular
websites in Finland. Taloussanomat.fi provides news, financial
information, analysis, financial tools and conversation platform
for free.
24/7 news are also published by Nu.nl in the
Netherlands and the leading Bulgarian news site Netinfo.bg. Online
tv and video guides TVgids.nl and Zie.nl are also published in the
Netherlands.
Ruutu.fi offers comprehensive online TV service in
Finland.
Search engines and portals
Sanoma's online portfolio includes many popular
online services in the Netherlands, for example country's most
popular search engine Ilse.nl as well as directory sites
Startpagina.nl in the Netherlands and Startlap.hu in Hungary. In
Bulgaria, directory services are offered by Gbg.bg. The Dutch
Goeievraag.nl is a user generated Q&A platform that can be
accessed through many channels.
Weblog communities offer easy access to weblogs.
These services include for example Webpark.ru in Russia, Web-log.nl
in the Netherlands and Blogilista.fi in Finland.
Examples of other portals are the Hungarian
Mobilport.hu offerin information and ratings about different kinds
of portable devices, and the Dutch SchoolBANK.nl providing virtual
meeting place for former schoolmates.
Sanoma publishes many women's portals such as
Vrouwonline.nl in the Netherlands, NLcafe.hu in Hungary, Rozali.com
in Bulgaria, Cosmo.ru and Ameno.ru in Russia and Femeia.ro in
Romania.
Online marketplaces
Huuto.net is the largest and most popular online
auction and Oikotie.fi a leading search service for housing, cars,
travel, jobs and training in Finland.
Keltainenporssi.fi is a popular marketplace in
Finland and Kuldnebors.ee is Estonia's leading market place for
classified advertising.
Auto24.ee is the leading market place for cars in
Estonia. In Hungary, we operate online auction site, Teszvesz.hu
and a recruiting site, Profession.hu, among others.
In the Netherlands price comparison site
Kieskeurig.nl helps consumers to find the best products and the
most inexpensive places to buy them. In Finland, a similar service
is called Hintaseuranta.fi.
Virtual communities
Examples of virtual communities targeted
especially on women are shopping site Spot-a-Shop.nl in the
Netherlands and the Finnish Tyylitaivas.fi, that provides
information and possibility to share style related experiences and
photos.
Parenting websites, such as Jongegezinnen.nl in
the Netherlands, Vauva.fi and Perhe.fi in Finland as well as
Parinti.com in Romania, offer information and peer communication to
parents.
Food-related websites are also very popular.
Ideas, conversations and photos are provided on sites such as
Foody.fi in Finland and Kuchyne.cz in the Czech Republic.
Home renovation and decoration is one the most
popular themes on Sanoma's websites. In the Netherlands,
Woonwebsite.nl provides information and contacts. In Finland,
Rakentaja.fi is the country's biggest home renovation and
decoration website measured by net sales and number of
visitors.
Games
Pelikone.fi is the most popular online casual
gaming service in Finland. Other game sites include for example
Alypaa.com, Taukopelit.fi as well as Gamer.fi that concentrates on
MMO games and Aivojumppa.fi designed for brain well-being and
activation. Liigapörssi.fi and Coach LeMat websites allow Finns and
Swedes play online icehockey with the real icehockey teams of each
country.
E-commerce
The Sanoma Group includes many
e-commerce services. For example, a customer is able to buy books
from the online bookstore and movie theatre tickets through
Finnkino's pages.
