Newspapers

Sanoma News publishes a wide range of newspapers in Finland. It has a nationwide newspaper, a tabloid, free sheets, regional and local papers, and free ad publications. In addition, some papers have several supplements and each paper has an online edition.

Sanoma Magazines publishes newspapers in Russia.

Dailies

Sanoma News publishes Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's largest newspaper and the largest daily in the Nordic region. Helsingin Sanomat was founded in 1904, in the footsteps of its predecessor, Päivälehti, which was published between 1889 and 1904. The newspaper's circulation is over 400,000 copies and it has almost one million daily readers.

Helsingin Sanomat reaches more than 20% of Finns. It is the leading advertising medium in Finland. In addition to the daily edition, Helsingin Sanomat readers also receive a weekly supplement NYT focusing on leisure and entertainment on Fridays, and a monthly magazine Kuukausiliite. The online edition of Helsingin Sanomat (hs.fi) offers news around the clock.

Independent Media, a part of Sanoma Magazines, publishes newspapers - The Moscow Times and The St. Petersburg Times - in English in Russia.

Established in 1992, The Moscow Times is published every weekday and contains analyses and news about international and domestic current affairs. The newspaper is distributed free of charge in over 500 outlets in the Moscow area, and by subscription to individual and corporate clients. The St. Petersburg Times in St. Petersburg is a similar concept to The Moscow Times.

Tabloids

Published since 1932, Ilta-Sanomat is Finland's largest quality tabloid and the country's second-largest newspaper. The paper's circulation is over 160,000 copies and it has over 800,000 readers. Iltasanomat.fi is one of Finland's most popular websites; the site has over one and a half million unique visitors per week.

Ilta-Sanomat also publishes Veikkaaja (sports) and IS TV guide. Veikkaaja is the largest magazine specialising in sports and sport betting in Finland.

Business papers

Taloussanomat business paper was established in 1997. It is published only as an online edition. Taloussanomat.fi reaches over 600,000 weekly visitors.

In association with The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times, Independent Media, part of Sanoma Magazines, publishes the leading Russian business and financial daily Vedomosti, as well as SmartMoney, a financial magazine.

Free sheets

Sanoma Free Sheets business unit includes several free sheets, e.g. Metro and Vartti.

The free sheet Metro is distributed in the Helsinki metropolitan area as well as in Hämeenlinna, Järvenpää, Kerava and Lahti. It has over 400,000 readers.

Kaupunkilehti Vartti is delivered to some 700,000 households in the Helsinkimetropolitan area in seven regional issues. Vartti also has four local editions in the cetral Uusimaa region and southeastern Finland. Vartti Uusimaa, Vartti Itä-Uusimaa, Vartti Kouvola ja Vartti Lappeenranta are published twice a week.

Regional and local papers

Sanoma Lehtimedia publishes three daily newspapers in the southeast Finland (Etelä-Saimaa, Kouvolan Sanomat and Kymen Sanomat) and six local papers (Keskilaakso in Anjalankoski, Joutseno, Kaakonkulma, Luumäen Lehti, Pitäjänuutiset and Uutisvuoksi).

Classifieds ads publications

Keltainen Pörssi has been published since 1986. Keltainen Pörssi publishes classified ads free of charge on Fridays. Keltainen Pörssi also has a very popular online service. Kuldne Börs is a free ad publication published in Estonia.
